The Reason

My eyes are closed, the night is sticky
Yet, there’s a breeze sometimes
In those moments I forgot the road I’m on
I forget what it truly means

No matter how hard my eyes are shut, reality awaits

Perhaps, if I wait long enough, what is real will have changed
Perhaps, the decision will no longer be mine to make.
Yet, I know what I face…
I know it as well as I know myself

Too bad, you can’t hide from the sound

This battle has been a hard fought one …
A battle fought with dignity, honor, and unparalleled grace
Though it seemed at times I was alone
Though it seemed at times I hadn’t the strength to lift my sword

My eyes sting from the sweat of my brow, as I adjust my armor to fight more

It was you that provided my strength
You whose face I look upon and feel the warmth of hope
You are why I continue to fight
It is you that make me whole
