I donned my chain mail and fastened my sword Now, I mount my steed and embark down the path Through the mist that we have ridden so many times before The path is the same, but yet it is different Weathered and weary, we ride On the top of the mountain, a figure awaits As we draw closer, the enemy grew larger Fear, terror, and horror clinch me like never before Leaping from my steed, as my blade slices through the air
The meeting of our blades, sound like thunder The enemy’s strength seemed to be more than I can bear With precision, I counter, as I step over the fallen By his mighty blow, I am dropped to my knees Wondering how much more I can take The oath I swore to the faith steadies my hand The battles raged for what seemed like days, but it was only moments At last, his heart was pierced Head separated before he could counter The visor opened as it hit the ground I release a howl, as his fingers rip through my chain mail and into my flesh My eye burn from the sweat of my brow Panting, as I remember each time I drew my blade What I was allowing to live, not what I destroyed Courage alone had guided me through many battles Yet, I realized it was not courage alone on this day Luck was alongside today, Sometimes luck is all a man needs if his courage hold Finally, I look into the face of this enemy Clinching my chest, horrified My screams echo across the countryside I ask myself, what is this, I see?
